I perform across the country in both urban and rural venues. I’ve developed new material both as a solo performer in Edinburgh and Brighton and in an early double bill show, Women at the Edge, which played successfully at regional fringe festivals including Birmingham Fest, Ludlow, and Henley-on-Thames.
I’ve appeared with core performance group Flashlight Tellers and am a regular guest at true-life storytelling and spoken word events. I have been involved in improvisation shows with Box of Frogs, and role-play work in medical training.
My work has also included:
- compèring events and running writing, performance, and storytelling workshops
- trade union events: shows for Unison, Searchlight Magazine and Birmingham Trades Council
- charity fundraisers as a solo performer in London at the Bread and Roses, and in a double bill with Tayo Aluko
A pre-Covid initiative has been the pioneering of small scale performances that can be taken to people’s homes. I also enjoy working with others on collaborative writing projects and shows. In 2020, through Live and Local, I worked with residents of Meon Vale to develop a piece called ‘Snapshot Stories’ to celebrate the place and its environment via stories of the lockdown period.
